Mobile-First Accounting & Banking Web App for Farmers and Fiduciaries
Web application for accounting and banking for farmers, part of a multi-year collaboration with Agridea, the independent advisory center for Switzerland's agricultural and food sector. Redesign of the A-TWIN application, moving it from a heavy desktop client to a modern, mobile-first web application.
A-TWIN was designed and built as AGRO-TWIN's next-generation software platform. The "Inventory of installations," "Allocation keys," and "Closing dossier" modules were redesigned to support the complex fiduciary requirements of client account management for farmers.
Two users, opposite needs
Fiduciary accountants needed a detailed, dense workspace for complex tasks: inventory of installations, allocation keys, closing dossiers. Farmers needed the opposite, a light, guided flow that made it easy to enter accurate information with minimum effort. Mapping both journeys surfaced the pain points and opportunities behind every accounting and banking task in the app.
Scan, pay, done
The farmer flow starts with a QR invoice scan, on desktop or mobile, and walks straight into a payment pre-filled with the invoice details. Farmers can also attach the right payment model at that point, so the transaction already carries the account and categorization info the accountant would otherwise have to add by hand later.
Activating and tracking investments
The accountant workspace handles the opposite problem: dozens of line items spread across investment categories (vehicles, buildings, equipment), each needing the right account, depreciation rate, and reconciliation status. This screen lets accountants review and activate investments in bulk instead of one entry at a time.
Design system
The front end was built in Angular, so the design system started from Google's Material Design, already available both in code as Angular Material and as a Figma library. Rather than building a system from scratch, the existing components and structure were adapted and re-skinned with A-TWIN's own visual identity, colors, type, spacing, keeping design and shipped code aligned while moving faster.
